Bio:
Curran Streett has been the Program Director at the Pride Center of the Capital Region since June 2009. She coordinates the Center Youth, Center Support, Vintage Pride and Trans Pride programs. She has been involved with the programs of the Pride Center since attending the Alternative Prom at age 15. Curran has been an active and vocal member of the LGBT community since that time, working and volunteering in the non-profit community in cities all over the country working to eliminate discrimination based on race, class, gender expression/identity and sexual orientation. Resettling in the Capital District after a five year absence, Curran worked in the field of HIV prevention at the AIDS Council and next the AIDS Institute doing HIV test counseling and prevention education trainings for vulnerable populations like substance abusers, homeless and incarcerated individuals.
Curran received her bachelor’s degree in Cultural Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She is currently working towards her Masters in Public Health with a focus in Social Behavior and Community Health.
