Bio:
Danielle Schultz is one of the MSW Center Support Interns for the 2010-2011 year at the Pride Center. She began her internship at the Pride Center in June 2011 as an Advanced-Standing Social Work Masters student from SUNY Albany. In May, Danielle graduated with Honors from Brockport with her Bachelors in Social Work from the University at Brockport. As an intern, Danielle will provide individual and family counseling for LGBTQ community members, as well as assisting the Pride Center in programming and community outreach tasks.
Danielle is originally from Binghamton New York, and decided to pursue a degree in social work after gaining immense growth and fulfillment while volunteering for her local Jewish Community Center. While completing her Undergraduate Degree, Danielle was an active member in Brockport’s Student Social Work Organization and coordinated Brockport’s annual Clothesline Project; which helped to spread awareness on crimes against women. Danielle’s experience pertains mostly to working with urban youth and she is looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about LGBTQ Youth by helping to facilitate PRIDE’s LBGTQ Youth Support Group and assisting with recruitment for the Center’s Youth Action Team. Danielle is very outgoing and new to the Capital Region, please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to her (she’s the curly headed intern who’s under 5 feet tall)!
