November is just around the corner and the 2012 Election is coming upon us. Are you registered to vote? Are you a college student with questions about absentee voting? Is your current registration up to date? Do you have questions about registering or the voting process? Concerned about exercising your voting rights as a transgender person? The Pride Center is here to help! If you have never registered, changed your name on your state ID card, or you’ve moved since the last election – you need to update your registration!
On Tuesday, September 25th, the Pride Center will host a special event in our Rainbow Café Drop-in Center in partnership with National Voter Registration Day!
We are partnering with thousands of other organizations across the country for National Voter Registration Day to provide all of our eligible community members the opportunity to register and ensure their votes! This is a nonpartisan event and ALL are welcome.
Our volunteer Diana will be on hand in our Rainbow Café Drop-in Center, located on the 1st floor of the Pride Center at 332 Hudson Avenue in Albany, from 6-9pm to assist with the registration process. We have voter registration forms in both English and Spanish, information about Voting While Trans, and absentee ballot request forms. We will mail your registration for you! All you need to do is stop by and fill out a form – we’ll handle the rest! Your participation in this event will ensure your preparedness come November 6th, so please join us on the 25th of September to register or update your registration before it is too late!
