Category: General — Capital Pride Center @ 11:26 am

The Pride Center has a full calendar this September, please help us get this fall off to a good start by joining us at one of the many events going on around the Capital Region!  Join us for the Annual Donor Appreciation Reception on September 6th, or at Oh Bar for a Pride Center fundraiser and friendraiser on September 8th. We also invite you to the National Day of Service on September 11th by joining our Volunteer Information Session to get more involved. Once you are all signedup, stop by McGeary’s for the Pride Center’s Happy Hour! The following Sunday, we invite all of our older community members to a Vintage Pride potluck, Sunday September 16th from 1-3 PM at the First Presbyterian Church on State Street.  Monday the 24th at 7 PM help us welcome and celebrate the work of internationally recognized artist Del La Grace Volcano presented by the Pride Center and SOGI. On September 25th we invite you to stop by the Pride Center to update your voter registration at the Rainbow Café and also that evening, enjoy a  screening the film “Normal” as a part of our Trans Pride program, followed by a discussion. Two days later, on September 27th we will be hosting our Annual College Reception, welcoming LGBTQA college students from all over the Capital Region to get to know their community center. We end the month with one of our favorite community events, the 16th Annual AIDS Walk! We hope you will join us in fundraising or in walking at this important event. We end the day and the month with the increasingly popular Supper Saturday from 6:30- 9 PM in the Rainbow Cafe hosted by Mike, one of our stellar volunteers!  Please visit our website www.capitalpridecenter.org for more details on all of these events, or call 462-6138 to talk with a Pride Center staff person. It is going to be a great month, we hope to see you at the Pride Center or at one of our events out in the Capital Region!
