The Pride Center of the Capital Region is proud to partake in the 16th Annual Capital Region AIDS Walk TOMORROW Saturday, September 29th! The AIDS Walk is hosted by CARES, Inc. and the Community AIDS Partnership of the Capital Region. It is estimated that someone in the U.S. becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes. There are more people living with HIV/AIDS in the Capital Region than ever before. Take a step in the right direction this weekend to help raise awareness and fight against HIV/AIDS!
The walk is being held at Washington Park in Albany, and will start in front of the Lakehouse at 12PM. We have 30 walkers signed up so far, and the list is growing! If you have not signed up to become part of our Pride Center Team, IT IS NOT TOO LATE!!! You can support the efforts by walking and/or fundraising with our team! You may register the day of the walk at our Pride Center Table which will be located inside of the Lakehouse any time between 11AM-12PM. Be sure to bring any funds raised and sponsor forms you may have with you, and if you raise over $100 you will be awarded a free t-shirt!! All of the money raised for the AIDS Walk will remain in the Capital Region and be given to service organizations, including the Pride Center of the Capital Region!
Get your pride balloon from our table before the walk begins and meet up with the other fabulous walkers to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon for a great cause!!! See you there!!
