The first half of September saw two terrific Pride Center events. On September 6, we were happy to show our gratitude to our many supporting donors at our Annual Donor Appreciation Reception held at Ten Broeck Mansion. With the Old Albany historic home serving as a backdrop, supporters Rob Hill and Kathryn Zox along with Board President Gwen Wright and Vice President Ken Mortensen, shared the importance of the work of the Pride Center and how vital our donors are to those services.
The event was proudly sponsored, for the second consecutive year, by our friends at Old Daley Catering. By providing their wonderful catering services, the Pride Center was able to show our donors how much they mean to us through an array of delicious finger foods. The deviled eggs were a particular hit. Also a hit were the terrific musical talents of cellist Will Hayes.
The following week, on September 11th, the Pride Center Business Alliance held their September LGBT Networking Professionals Mixer at Downtown Albany’s very own McGeary’s Pub. Nearly forty people came out to network, make new friends, catch up with old ones, pass out some business cards and make important connections in the LGBT community. That it was all happening in the storied back room of McGeary’s made it that much more fun. Manager Tess Collins pulled out all the stops and made for a memorable evening.
