Trans Pride Includes:

The Trans Pride program promotes the wellbeing of the transgender and gender non conforming community in a safe and empowering space. The Trans Pride program is dedicated to empowering transgender and gender non conforming people and their allies through social opportunities, community building, resource sharing, and advocacy.

Trans Meet n Greet

Informal gatherings take place on the First Tuesday of each month in the Rainbow Cafe at 332 Hudson Ave in Albany from 7-9 PM. This is a great way to meet new people, socialize in a safe environment and connect with friends.

Trans Pride Discussion Group

A topic centered discussion takes place at the Pride Center every third Tuesday of the month from 7-9 PM. Topics range from legal issues to successful transition in the workplace to coming out. Education and Professional Development on Transgender issues

The Pride Center of the Capital Region offers free educational and professional development trainings to people interested in increasing their awareness of the Transgender community. This training is devoted to understanding the “T” in the LGBT population. Despite the increasing prevalence of the term Transgender, there are still many misconceptions and misunderstandings. This workshop will discuss myths and stereotypes about Transgender people and explore ways to better support the Transgender population.

Non Medical/legal Transgender specific resources in the Capital Region

The Northeast Gender Alliance
This Yahoo group is designed to promote unity for crossdressers, transsexuals and anyone who identifies as transgender in any way, who live anywhere within a wide circle of Albany, New York, the New York State Capital Region. Open to family, partners, friends and anyone who is supportive of the transgender community. The purpose of this list is to bring together all of the above mentioned people so that we share information, meet, learn and enjoy ourselves. This list acts as a clearing house for any number of local organizations, social groups, inspired individuals who additionally want to meet to talk, socialize, support and learn from each other. Trans Events Conference
