Alyssa serves as a second year MSW intern through the University at Albany’s School of Social Welfare Program. In her role as intern, she spends half of her time at the Pride Center and the other half providing counseling to members of the LGBTQ community as a part of the Center Support program.
Prior to moving to Albany, Alyssa attended the State University of New York College at Oneonta where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a Women’s Studies minor. During her tenure at Oneonta, Alyssa was a part of numerous activities including serving on the executive board of the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, as well as the Gender Equality and Rights Society. She also volunteered and interned at the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center and served as a student representative on its advisory committee. Alyssa also volunteered as an EMT-B on the Oneonta State Emergency Squad, responding to various emergencies around the SUNY Oneonta campus.
In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys reading, drawing, and playing video games. She greatly enjoys spending time with her partner and playing with their puppy, two cats, and bearded dragon.
