Kamryn Wolf joined the Pride Center staff in January 2017. As Program & Volunteer Coordinator, they work closely with volunteers, staff, and community partners to ensure the success of the Center’s programming. They are thrilled to join the Pride Center team, and are looking forward to finding ways to better support the capital region’s LGBTQ community!
Before moving to the region in November 2016, Kamryn lived in Brooklyn, NY. Most recently they worked as a Sex Educator / Sales Associate at Toys in Babeland — a feminist sex toy shop with locations in New York City and Seattle. In addition to helping customers with products, Kamryn also crafted and facilitated public workshops on anatomy, relationships, gender, and sexuality. While at Babeland they and their coworkers led the successful and historic campaign to become the country’s only unionized adult toy shop. Kamryn is passionate about the need for comprehensive, affirming, and body-positive sex education, as well as the right for every worker to have dignity, respect, and rights on the job!
Prior to Babeland, Kamryn worked as Coordinator of Community & Client Needs at Third Root Community Health Center in Brooklyn, NY — a cooperatively-owned holistic health center. One of the few full-time staff, they were responsible for training all staff and volunteers, scheduling, event promotion, and front-desk management. They believe self-care is crucial for everyone, especially those engaged in movements for social justice!
Kamryn’s additional experience organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and gender justice has been with Resource Generation, North Star Fund, and Divine House Tenants Association. Kamryn graduated from Wesleyan University in 2012 with a Bachelor degree in Art History and German Studies. In their free time they love bike-riding, dancing to George Michael, reading poetry, learning about astrology, and connecting with their queer chosen family.
