We are pleased to present the following awards in honor of the amazing work of the following individuals, businesses, and organizations:
Rising Star Award
Given to a person or organization that has begun to demonstrate promising service to the LGBTQ community.
Peter Drago Leadership in Government Award
Given to a person in government who has demonstrated outstanding support of the LGBTQ community.
Community Service Award
Given to a person or organization that has demonstrated outstanding community service within the LGBTQ community.
Faisal Alam Young Leaders Award
The Faisal Alam Award, named for Faisal Alam, a queer Muslim activist, who was an active youth advocate, and began the Al-Fatiha Foundation at age 19. This award is given to an individual (ages 24 and under) whose passion, drive, and efforts are making an impact on the LGBTQ community.
Paul Postiglione Youth Services Award
Given to a person who has worked to improve the lives of LGBTQ youth.
Libby Post Council Leadership Award
Given to a former Pride Center board member who defined leadership.
Black Lives Matter
Organization of the Year
Given to an organization for its outstanding support of the LGBTQ Community.
Sylvia Rivera Award
The Sylvia Rivera Award, named for civil rights pioneer Sylvia Rivera, who was a veteran of the Stonewall uprising, and a tireless advocate for transgender rights. This award is given to an individual or organization that has demonstrated outstanding work helping the LGBTQ community.
Marsha P. Johnson Award
The Marsha P. Johnson Award, named for Marsha “Pay No Mind” Johnson, a Stonewall instigator and self-proclaimed “street queen”, who fought for transgender rights. This award is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions working with marginalized communities.
Robert B. Quinney Jr.
Harvey Milk Award
Given to a person in the community whose work emulates the ideals of Harvey Milk.
Special Recognition Award
Given in special recognition of service to the community and Pride Center above and beyond
